As a fan of Sophie McKenzie’s Missing series, I’m always excited to hear of her new releases. I love McKenzie’s engagingly witty style and I also find her characters so well constructed and relatable. She also writes great book boys. Teenage girls are going to love Flynn – he’s all intense, brooding and seriously sexy. It’s no surprise that River falls head over heels for him pretty much as soon as she sees him. But Flynn’s had a much different upbringing than River. As a character she’s sweet and innocent, while Flynn’s had to grow up fast. His background isn’t the stuff of dreams, and the truth about Flynn adds a gritty edge to this slice of contemporary romance.
A book about falling in love for the first time and the equal amounts of joy and heartbreak that can bring, Falling Fast is an enjoyable read that fans of contemporary fiction will love. I’m looking forward to continuing my journey with River and Flynn when the next book in this series Burning Bright releases in 2013.
