Please welcome Jeyn Roberts to the blog as she takes you on a tour of her bookshelves! Jeyn is the author of Dark Inside and Rage Within two books which I just happen to love a lot! If you haven't yet checked out the Dark Inside series, you're really missing out!
Over to Jeyn!
Rage Within (Dark Inside #2) by Jeyn Roberts
Publisher: Macmillan Children's Books
Release date: August 30th 2012In this apocalyptic sequel to Dark Inside’s “well-balanced, realistic suspense” (Kirkus Reviews), four teens continue the struggle for survival as they face a world gone mad. Aries, Clementine, Michael, and Mason have survived the first wave of the apocalypse that wiped out most of the world’s population and turned many of the rest into murderous Baggers. Now they’re hiding out in an abandoned house in Vancouver with a ragtag group of fellow teen survivors, trying to figure out their next move.
Aries is trying to lead, but it’s hard to be a leader when there are no easy answers and every move feels wrong. Clementine is desperate to find her brother Heath, but it’s impossible to know where he’d be, assuming he’s alive. Michael is haunted by the memories of his actions during his harrowing struggle to survive. And Mason is struggling with something far worse: the fear that he may be a danger to his friends.
As the Baggers begin to create a new world order, these four teens will have to trust and rely on each other in order to survive.
Guest Post: Jeyn Roberts Bookshelf Tour!
This first picture is the main bookshelf in my living room. As you can see it’s a mixture of books, dvd’s, and all sorts of various stuff I’ve hoarded over the years.
Sadly, those shelves are filled. There are books behind books, DVD’s stacked behind other DVD’s and all sorts of other stuff jammed in for fun. My Harry Potter collection is right there in the middle. I’ve got my collection of really old books. I love them, especially the ones from my father’s childhood. He had a really neat collection, including an amazing Disney book from the 1930’s.
There is no rhyme or reason to anything I watch or read. I keep saying I should organize, but the best I’ve ever done is stick the YA together and put all the Stephen King and Douglas Coupland on the same shelf. Everything else is chaos.
There are a lot of toys on the top, which my cat loves to knock over when she thinks I’m not looking. I used to work at ToysRUs and that led to that particular collecting hobby. I’ve also got Rub-a-dub dolly up there. She was the very first doll I ever got. Her heads all squashed and the hair is dreadlocked but I still pretty much adore her.
Second shelf. I keep paperbacks piled here and some of the books I loved as a child. I’ve got a good collection of Fairy tales and Fables. I’m a big fan of them. I’ve also got my Little House on the Prairies which I looooooved as a little girl, some travel books and my English/Spanish dictionary. My Ernest eHHemm Hemmingway collection. As I said, no rhyme or reason. But it seems to work for me because usually I know where everything is.
